A shield taken from the shield of the 3rd Supply and Transport Battalion. The body of the shield contains a five spired fort indicative of Chateau Thierry. The Marne patch in the upper left hand corner represents service in the division (3rd Infantry Division). The motto "Roulons et Passons" is translated "let us roll (forward) and cross (the bridge at Chateau Thierry) COAT OF ARMS Blazon: Shield: Or, a fort with five towers each topped with a spire with banner (from the arms of Chateau Thierry) sable; on a canton azure, three bendlets sinister argent. Crest: On a wreath of colors (or and sable) a cornucopia gules debruised by a wheel or. Motto: ROULONS ET PASSONS. Symbolism: Shield: On a gold or yellow shield is the five spired fort in black indicative of Chateau Thierry just east of which and south of the Marne occurred the first important service of the predecessor organization. On a square in the corner of the shield is the shoulder mark of the 3rd Division. This tells the story of the Train's first major service and of the Division of which it was part. Motto: The motto Roulons et Passons" may be translated "Let us roll (Forward) and cross (the bridge at Chateau Thierry)." Background: The coat of arms was originally approved for the 3rd Division Train on 3 October 1921. Unit Day: 14 July 1918, the day that the unit received it baptism of fire in World War I battle not far from Chateau-Thierry, France.
